Log House in Těptín (2009)

As a reference building project, we have chosen a log house constructed in the municipality of Těptín. It is a two-floor family house. Its investor, Mr. Benda, is very passionate about wooden houses. The house was constructed with the aid of the Norwegian technology. The interior and exterior surfaces of the logs are flat, which enhances the practicality and the use value of the whole structure.

The Siberian pine, which was used for the construction of the log house, has proven to be a great choice especially with a view to its structure, appearance, and exquisite properties. From an aesthetical point of view, the Siberian pine is ideal due to the minimum occurrence of knots and other wood defects. Prior to commencing with the construction work, we had to build an access road and we also had to cut down several stout trees to make space for the crane. Together with the investor, we committed ourselves to plant twice as more trees to replace the felled spruces.

After finishing the foundation slab, the arrival of the lorries with the disassembled log house was scheduled in early June 2009. The project also included the construction of a log garage. As a complimentary gift from Monivet - Tajga s.r.o., the investor received a garden gazebo built with the use of the same technology as the log house and garage. A web camera is installed on every construction site to enable the investor to monitor the progress of the construction work in real time. It is a tradition and a standard in our company to invite investors to visit the production line where they may inspect their finished log house and where they receive a model of their future home.
